Derailments
It's a sad fact that railroads, regardless of size, will experience instances wherein a train may suddenly take leave of its track and result in what the industry refers to as a derailment. Indeed our little scenic railway has suffered these events over our operating history. Fortunately there have been no serious injuries other than a few scrapes here and there and no significant property damage.
Of course the National Transportation Safety Board ( NTSB) thoroughly investigates all of these incidents and in the cases involving our railway, it was found that no operating of maintenance issues were to blame and the accidents were simply "Acts of God" and thus not preventable in any real sense.
We look forward to another successful operating season, God willing.
